Azia Jackson

1.If you could make one rule that everyone in the world had to follow, what would it be?
When I was three years old, my parents had me participate in a show where I was meant to perform a short routine on stage. But instead of performing, I walked up to the microphone and declared, “I don't perform on demand.” It's amusing to think that I used such advanced vocabulary at such a young age.

2.If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I've always wanted to own a pair of go-go boots. Despite originating in the 60s, they remain incredibly stylish and effortlessly chic. Their simplicity allows them to complement a wide variety of outfits. Their sleek and clean design is so striking that they can make a bold statement all on their own.

3.When do you feel a child or teen becomes an adult?
Living in Arizona means missing out on some traditional seasons, but fall is still my favorite. This time of year, the Arizona skies are lit beautifully by the sunrises and sunsets. It's also when the air cools down a bit, making it perfect for more outdoor activities.

4.What do you feel you have learned in life that will be the most useful?
“The Princess and the Frog” has been my favorite movie since I was three years old. It was the first time I saw a Disney character who looked like me. The messages and lessons from the movie continue to have a significant impact on my life as an African American woman.

5.What do you feel is the hardest job in the world and why?
The song that always reminds me of myself is “Club Can't Handle Me” by Flo Rida. It's such an upbeat and bubbly track! I've always been someone who can't resist dancing to whatever music is playing, but this song in particular fills me with happiness and a celebratory spirit. It's the perfect anthem for someone who loves to celebrate life.
